The accompanied car driving license from 17 years


After successfully passing the test and turning 17 years old you will receive the test certificate which is valid in Germany as well as Austria.

Until the age of 18 you will only be allowed to drive with the accompanying person.

Prerequisites escort person:

  • Age min. 30 years
  • Car driver´s license min. 5 Years
  • Max. 1 points at traffic central register

In case the person accompanying you has 2 penalty points, we recommend attending a course (FES) in order to reduce the points and to be authorized to accompany you again.

When you reach the age of 18 and have previously successfully passed the theoretical and practical test, you will usually receive your EU driving license by post from the driving license authority of the City of Munich.
There are no additional fees for sending by post.

If, in individual cases, delivery by post is not possible, you will be informed in writing that you have a driver's license ready for collection.
The collection is possible in person but also by an authorized person, for this you need your written power of attorney, your passport or identity card and an identification document of the authorized person.
