Larger trailers – upgrading to Class BE

The cars you'll drive

For your safety and enjoyment during training, you will drive top-equipped vehicles of the latest models.

Our BMW 116 vehicles offer all available driver assistance systems*. These may also be used during the exam.

Professional maintenance and cleanliness of our vehicles is a matter of course.

Under Locations you can find the training vehicles available at each site.

 

These are the cars you are allowed to drive with your licence:

  • Up to 3,500 kg permissible total weight with automatic or manual transmission
     
  • Also with a trailer up to a maximum permissible total weight of 750 kg
     
  • Or with a trailer over 750 kg permissible total weight, provided the total permissible weight of towing vehicle and trailer does not exceed 3,500 kg

     

For larger trailers, we recommend additional driver training for class B with key number 96 (without exam) or class BE.

How Many Theory Lessons Do You Need?

Number required if you have not previously held a driving licence class:

  • 12 theory units (90 min. each) Basic knowledge
     
  • 2 theory units (90 min. each) Class B

  • 6 theory units (90 minutes each) Basic knowledge
     
  • 2 theory units (90 minutes each) class B
