Your requirements

  • Start of training minimum age 17.5 years -> issue of driving licence minimum age 18 years
     
  • Start of training minimum age 16.5 years -> issue of driving licence minimum age 17 years with BF17 accompanied driving
     
  • Application for driving licence at the driving licence authority
     
  • Theoretical training
     
  • Theoretical exam
     
  • Practical training on a car with automatic transmission + practical driver training 450 minutes (5 driving sessions of 90 minutes each) on a car with a manual transmission in order to gain driving competence for manual transmission
     
  • Test drive (15 minutes) with your driving instructor on a car with a manual transmission to determine driving competence for manual transmission
     
  • Practical exam on a car with automatic transmission
     
  • No practical exam on a car with a manual transmission necessary

EXTENSION OF DRIVING LICENSE TO CLASS BE

Your vehicle

For your safety and enjoyment during training, you will drive top-equipped vehicles of the latest models.

Our BMW 116 vehicles offer all available driver assistance systems*. These may also be used during the exam.

Professional maintenance and cleanliness of our vehicles is a matter of course.

Under Locations you can find the training vehicles available at each site.

 

Motor vehicles:

  • Up to 3,500 kg permissible total weight with automatic or manual transmission
     
  • Also with a trailer up to a maximum permissible total weight of 750 kg
     
  • Or with a trailer over 750 kg permissible total weight, provided the total permissible weight of towing vehicle and trailer does not exceed 3,500 kg

     

For larger trailers, we recommend additional driver training for class B with key number 96 (without exam) or class BE.

Your theoretical lessons

Number required if you have not previously held a driving licence class:

  • 12 theory units (90 min. each) Basic knowledge
     
  • 2 theory units (90 min. each) Class B

 

Number required if you have previously held a driving licence class:

  • 6 theory units (90 minutes each) Basic knowledge
     
  • 2 theory units (90 minutes each) class B

Your driving lesson

Your driving lessons consist of

- Modules drive easy Simulator

- Training lessons

- Special lessons

 

For efficient training, we recommend at least 2 driving appointments (90 minutes each) per week.

Practical training timeline

  1. Drive all modules on the drive easy simulator.
     
  2. Drive an individual number of driving appointments for training lessons with automatic transmission until you are ready to take the exam within a built-up area.
     
  3. Your driving instructor will carry out a progress check with you in a built-up area

    -> learning objectives achieved (exam readiness) -> continue with point 3

    -> learning objectives not achieved (not ready for exam) -> further training lessons with automatic transmission and renewed learning status check
     
  4. Drive 2 driving appointments (90 minutes each) training lessons with manual transmission.
     
  5. Drive 3 driving appointments (90 minutes each) special lessons with manual transmission.
     
  6. Drive 1 driving appointment (90 minutes each) with manual transmission (test drive 15 minutes + training lesson 75 minutes).
     
  7. Drive 3 driving appointments (90 minutes each) special lessons with automatic transmission.
     
  8. Your driving instructor must be convinced that you are still ready for the exam. If necessary, he will carry out another assessment of progress check.
     
  9. Consider taking some additional training lessons with automatic transmission to get back to exam readiness.
     
  10. Take your practical exam with automatic transmission.
