If the exam permit (exam order) has not been issued by the driving licence authority for your desired class or if a requirement (e.g. visual aid) has been entered incorrectly, contact your driving licence authority (Munich District Administration Department or District Office) using the contact form, by telephone or in person. Pay all outstanding advance payments (invoices) from TÜV Süd for your exam fees, which can be downloaded from your Drivers Club | TÜV SÜD.
Successfully passed a theory exam (if necessary). The theory exam must not be older than one year on the day of the practical exam.
You may take a practical exam at the earliest 1 month before reaching your minimum age.
You are fully trained according to the training plan.
You are ready for the exam -> you have carried out 2 exam simulations with your driving instructor and passed them successfully.
Your driving instructor has sent the documentation of your successful exam simulations to our customer service.
Booking
If you fulfil all the requirements, send an email to the customer service at your location and ask about the availability of an exam.
We must request your exam from the TÜV Süd test centre. This enquiry will be confirmed by the TÜV Süd test centre depending on availability.
Your exam is only booked after this confirmation.
The TÜV Süd test centre sometimes confirms a practical exam at very short notice.
Therefore, even if we have not yet made an enquiry with the TÜV Süd test centre for your practical exam, you should fulfil the following requirements:
- Fully trained
- Successful exam simulations with your driving instructor -> exam readiness achieved
As soon as we receive confirmation of your practical exam from the TÜV Süd test centre at short notice, we can book 1-3 driving lesson dates for you shortly before your exam as a refresher.
For organisational reasons, however, it is not possible for us to book more than 3 driving lessons shortly before an exam.
Your practical exam must be booked at the earliest 2 weeks after your theory exam.
Your exam can only be booked bindingly if you have paid for all services up to the exam.
Cancellation
You can cancel the booked exam free of charge up to 2 weeks before the exam date.
If this deadline is not met, the ‘Presentation for practical examination’ fee is due in accordance with the training contract.
If you do not wish to cancel an exam by the deadline, you must inform the TÜV Süd test centre immediately. All information about this FAQ TÜV Süd
Terms of payment
As soon as your exam permit (exam order) has been issued by the district administration department / district office, the exam organisation TÜV Süd will send you an invitation to register for the Drivers Club | TÜV SÜD
In the Drivers Club | TÜV SÜD, you can view the advance on costs for the exam fees to be paid to TÜV Süd. You must pay this advance immediately.
Your exam can only be booked if you have paid the advance payment from TÜV Süd.
In order for your exam to take place, the amount of your last overview of services must be paid.
If not all services have been paid on the day of the exam, the exam cannot take place. All costs of the exam are still due.
Once you have passed the exam, you will receive an invoice from the examiner for all the exam fees you have paid.
Any credit balance on your driving school account will of course be transferred back to you immediately after successfully passing the exam.
As soon as your test permit (test order) has been issued by the district administration department / district office, you will receive an invitation from the testing organisation TÜV Süd to register for the Drivers Club | TÜV SÜD
In the Drivers Club | TÜV SÜD you will receive an "Kostenvorschuss" on the costs of the exam fees to be paid to TÜV Süd. You must pay this "Kostenvorschuss" immediately.
Your exam can only be booked if you have paid the "Kostenvorschuss" from TÜV Süd.
In order for your exam to take place, the amount of your last overview of services must be paid.
If not all services have been paid on the day of the exam, the exam cannot take place. All costs of the exam are still due.
After passing the exam, the examiner will give you a bill of costs (invoice) for all of your paid examination fees.
Any existing credit on your driving school account will of course be transferred back to you immediately after a successful test.

Date, time, meeting point
You will receive a booking confirmation and the meeting point (departure location) by email from our customer service team no earlier than 14 days before your exam.
Your start time will be visible in your FAHREN LERNEN app at the earliest 14 days before your exam: To-do -> Practice -> Practical exam (click on the date)
This is an approximate time for the start of your exam. The examiner may also arrive a little later at the agreed meeting point.
Be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the specified start time.
If the start time of your test is 7.20 a.m. according to your FAHREN LERNEN app, please be at the meeting point indicated by your driving instructor at 6.50 a.m.
Language
The practical exam is held exclusively in German.
The German - English translation contains the words used by the examiner.
Duration
The duration of the practical examination:
Class B197 / B78 / B / BE: 55 minutes
Class A / A2 / A1: 70 minutes
Class A ascent / A2 ascent: 60 minutes
The specified exam duration includes at least 30 minutes driving time and all points from the audit process below are included.
Audit process
Your driving instructor will accompany you during the exam.
You must sign your training certificate.
The examiner checks your ID.
Before the exam drive, the examiner asks you 3 questions about departure control.
The examiner may not ask you any questions during the test drive. He only tells you the directions. If the examiner asks your driving instructor to tell you the directions, it does not mean that you failed.
In addition to driving inside and outside the city, you have to show the basic driving tasks. The basic driving tasks are carried out on roads or squares with little traffic.
The exam result will be communicated to you.
There will be a final review.
You will receive a examination protocol from the examiner with your performance.
The examiner selects 6 basic driving tasks from the following basic driving tasks:
Driving a slalom at walking speed
Braking with the greatest possible deceleration
Swerve without braking
Swerve after braking
Slalom
Long slalom
Stop and go
Circle driving
Class B / B78 / B197 - 3 basic driving tasks
The examiner selects 3 basic driving tasks from the following basic driving tasks:
Drive right backwards using a junction, intersection or driveway
Reversing into a parking space (longitudinal installation)
Driving into a parking space (transverse or inclined installation)
Independently find a suitable place to turn round
Braking with the greatest possible deceleration
Class BE - 1 basic driving task
Backing around a corner to the left
Driving inside and outside built-up areas
The examiner decides whether you also have to drive outside of a built-up area.
Examination result
Assessment exam
The examiner will inform you immediately after the examination about the result.
A feedback discussion takes place with the examiner.
Your exam report is available in the Drivers Club TÜV Süd.
Examination with success
Normally, you receive your driving licence directly from the examiner or he hands you a confirmation of your successful examination.
At conversion a foreign driving licence, you will only receive a confirmation of your successful examination.
This confirmation is not a driving licence and you are not allowed to drive with it.
With this confirmation, you can pick up your driving licence at the KVR after about 2 days. To pick up your driving licence, you have to book an appointment online at the KVR.
Examination without success
Based on your exam report, your driving instructor will recommend which situations you should practise again.
You are allowed to retake earliest the examination after 14 days. Available driving lessons and examination required.
