Practical exam: from January to March, more appointment slots for the Class BE practical exam are available at the TÜV Süd testing centre. During the remaining months, longer waiting times are to be expected.

Driving lessons and the practical exam require a minimum German language level of A2 (CEFR) – even if your instructor speaks one of the languages listed below. The practical exam is conducted in German only.

Our German-English word list contains all the terms the examiner uses during the practical exam.

• You may take driving lessons even if you have not yet attended theory lessons.
   
• For efficient training, we recommend at least 2 driving appointments per week.
   
• Request your driving appointments with your FAHREN LERNEN app.

• Driving licence training is divided into 2 training areas:
  
  - Training lessons (basic training) within built-up areas
  
  - Special lessons outside built-up areas
   
• At the end of a training area, your driving instructor will carry out a progress check to determine whether the learning objectives (exam readiness) have been achieved.
   
• Before your practical exam can be scheduled, your driving instructor must be confident in your exam readiness across all training areas.

1. Drive all modules on the drive easy simulator. Only class B197, B78, B.
    
2. Drive an individual number of training lessons until you are ready to take the exam in a built-up area.
    
3. Your driving instructor will carry out a progress check with you within a built-up area.
   
   -> learning objectives (exam readiness) achieved -> continue with point 4
   
   -> learning objectives (exam readiness) not achieved -> further training lessons and new progress check
    
4. Drive the special lessons (if required)
    
5. Your driving instructor must be convinced that you are still ready for the exam within a built-up area. If necessary, he will carry out another progress check.
    
6. Consider taking some additional training lessons to get back to exam readiness.
    
7. Drive your practical exam

According to the learner driver training regulations, the sequence is specified in the training plan.

• At the beginning of your training, use the FAHREN LERNEN app to request all the driving appointments we recommend in full.
   
• Drive regularly at least 1 - 2 driving appointments per week.
   
• Train on our drive easy driving simulator. Only class B197, B78 and class B.
   
• Regularly ask your driving instructor whether your scheduled driving lessons are sufficient to reach exam readiness.
   
• Work with your e-book and workbook.
   
• Train all recurring action sequences with the mental audio training.
   
• Follow the theory lessons attentively and then prepare them in your e-book and workbook.
   
• Concentrate on your work during the driving appointments.

• Ask your driving instructor which topic will be covered in the next driving appointment.
   
• Prepare for the next driving appointment with your e-book and workbook.
