The limited motorcycle license

Your prerequisites

Theoretical training and theoretical examination are not necessary if you have a class A1 of at least 2 years.

Your vehicle

Motorbikes with

  • Engine power not exceeding 35 kW (48 hp) and
  • Power to weight ratio max. 0.2 kW/kg 
  • and not derived from a motorbike with an engine power exceeding 70 kW


Seat height

To ensure safe training, our learner drivers must be able to reach the road with at least both balls of their feet. 

For a safe stand on the road, not only the body height and seat height of the motorbike are responsible, but also the seat width, the leg length and the thigh circumference.

Arrange an individual seat test at the driving school to find your suitable training motorbike.

 

Training vehicles

For your safety and fun in training, you will ride on current models. Professional maintenance of our vehicles is a matter of course.

Under locations you will find the following training vehicles, which are offered at the respective driving school.

  • BMW F 700 GS ABS
  • Honda CB 650 F ABS
  • Kawasaki ER6N ABS
  • Yamaha MT07 ABS


Minimum requirements for training vehicle

  • Minimum displacement 395 ccm
  • Engine power at least 20kW and max. 35kW
  • Power to weight ratio at least (for electric motor) 0.15 kW /kg

Fahrschule Rausch offers, based on these characteristics, the lowest and lightest training motorbikes currently available:
e.g. Yamaha MT07 for persons with a height of at least 1.61 m. Lowered chassis, narrow and low seat, seat height 75 cm, weight 180 kg ready to ride.

 

Own vehicle

You can also use your own motorcycle/scooter for training. It must meet the minimum requirements and you need a confirmation from your insurance company. This is usually always issued.

Your theory lessons

Required number with no prepossession a drivers license:

  • 12 double lessons (at 90 minutes) of basic knowledge
  • 4 double lessons (at 90 minutes) especially for licenses class A

 

Required number with prepossession a drivers license:

  • 6 double lessons (at 90 minutes) of basic knowledge
  • 4 double lessons (at 90 minutes) especially for licenses class A


Pre-owned Class A1 or 1b (or Class 3 issued before 4.1.1980) at least 2 years:

  • Theoretical lessons and a theoretical exam are not compulsory

Your driving lesson

Your driving lessons are made up of training lessons and special lessons.

Your instructor will accompany you with a radio and your own motorbike.

Depending on your level of training, he will ride in front or behind you.

Training lesson

The first training lessons take place on a practice area. The practice area is located near the driving school.

During the practice drives, you will practise the basic driving tasks and driving in the city.

This number varies depending on the learner driver. There is no statutory minimum number.

Special lesson

In the special lessons (also known as statutory compulsory lessons) you only train to ride outside the city.


When you first acquire a motorbike class:

  • 5 driving lessons (45 minutes each) overland driving
  • 4 driving lessons (45 minutes each) motorway driving
  • 3 driving lessons (45 minutes each) twilight driving

 

If you held class A1 for at least 2 years:

  • No special lessons required

 

If you held class A1 less than 2 years:

  • 3 driving lessons (45 minutes each) overland driving
  • 2 driving lessons (45 minutes each) motorway driving
  • 1 driving lesson (45 minutes each) twilight driving
